It is no exaggeration to say that Game 1 of the 2024 WNBA Finals between the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx was one of the greatest Finals games of all time. Between a huge Lynx comeback, an improbable four-point play, one missed free throw and an overtime that had more swings than the stadium school, Brooklyn’s 17,000-plus fans got their money’s worth.

That includes a fair share of celebrities. As the WNBA surges in newfound popularity, the big game has become a haven for famous faces from all industries. Game 1 single shown from Aubrey Plaza and Meek Mill along with the halftime performance from Rick Ross.

With the Finals underway this weekend, plenty of celebrities are sure to make an appearance on the court (or CeLiberty Row at Barclays Center, home of the Liberty).

Meek Mill

Dressed in blue sweats and a black baseball cap, Meek sat courtside at Game 1 between Gayle King and owner of Liberty Clara Wu Tsai.

The Liberty brought out all the stars for their halftime shows during the playoffs, drawing And the Law, Cash Cobain and Bay Swag in the first instance. For Game 1 of the Finals, it was Ross, who lit up the crowd with a performance along with more celebrities. Ellie the Elephant.

Spike Lee

Lee made headlines when he shared a moment in the game with Sabrina Ionescu during the semi-finals, prompting Ionescu to say, “I felt like New York had just been injected into my veins.” He returned for Game 1 of the Finals, wearing an Ionescu jersey and a Yankees cap.

Sudekis is a die-hard Liberty fan who attended every game during the regular season, and the WNBA Championships were no different. He shot the crowd during the time when the cameras caught him on the jumbotron.

Mark Winds

Fresh off his back-to-back heroics for the New York Mets in the 2024 MLB Postseason, the third baseman used his time off between the series to take Game 1 of the WNBA Finals. The Barclays Center showed his first game in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Philadelphia Phillies, and the crowd erupted when Vientos appeared on camera.
